Recently, my father-in-law-cross-the-ocean noted that our blog is out-of-date. He would be right. So, I'm writing to rectify the matter. We had a temporary Internet malfunction, which proved just how dependent we are on our broadband connection (and just how addicted we are to E-mail).
But now we are back, and once again, connected to the world! How have you been, world?
Plenty has been happening on our end, which is part of our excuse for not blogging of late. I'm in the final rounds of interviews with a local advertising/PR firm. The last of which was a 2-hour session with the CEO, an old-school, hard-nosed businessman who proceeded to drill me on everything from my upbringing (!) to why I decided not to major in journalism at UNC (the implication being that the university has one of the best j-schools in the country, and it was just short of ludicrous for me to major in political science of all things). Anyhow, now is the waiting game - the one where I wait and wait and wait for their final decision. It feels like I'm dating all over again...sitting by the phone, waiting for it to ring. I'll be glad to have an answer - one way or another.
In other news, Ben is happily settled in at Lulu - and staying busy. And one day soon, we are optimistic that Lulu will be giving him a permanent position with the added bonus of health insurance. We are also planning and preparing for Christmas. I've issued an embargo on non-Christmas music in our house. It's Christmas time all the time. Ben has retaliated by secretly downloading non-Christmas I-Tunes at work.
We put up a Christmas tree, kindly donated to our holiday cause by my generous Dad. For those of you following Daisy's eating habits, she has not yet eaten our Christmas tree - but she has coopted the tree water. Apparently, hunkering under the bottom branches for a gulp of pine-scented water is preferable to her water bowl in the kitchen. But it's a lovely tree! I must say.
That's all for now - just a quick note to satisfy our One Faithful Reader, Gerry Adlard. More later when Ben feels inspired to blog the next entry.

Anna- great to have you back. I have been checking in on your blog this week...now that I am back at work and in the realm of 'internet at my fingertips' - which I am sure you remember when I had to join e-mailers anonymous....now I think I might have to join blog readers anonymous.
Can't wait to check out Gerry's blog....Matt has suggested I start my own, but I think I will stay in the land of the readers for a bit!
Hallelujah, you've returned! Preach on, Brother Gerry! I too get antsy when they haven't written in a while. And I'm spoiled rotten because I see them at least every other week. Still, good to hear the inner workings of the Adlard household. Any chance Ben has been introduced to the magical Christmas stylings of John Denver and The Muppets?
