Two days.
Two days stand between us and a long weekend at the beach. Status: highly overdue for a vacation. I've been so tired this week that I thought I might coming down with something - but now I'm thinking I'm just allergic to my place of employment (ah choo!). This little holiday should cure all that...at least until next Wednesday.
Tonight, Ben got home from work quite late but still early enough to buy ice cream cones and take a long walk with Daisy the Dog. So happy to be outside, she ran wildly through the fields while we followed behind, Ben with pistachio-almond in hand and me with mint chocolate chip. It was one of those long lingering summer evenings, with cicadas singing a persistent creaky song and fireflies twinkling along the grass.
And so now, we are sleepy. Soon, we'll go to bed and sleep soundly, lulled by ice cream and a long walk and the languid summer evening drifting off to another day.

one day left! have a great time at the beach. As I rest this weekend I will think of you two resting as well. Weekends with family in the sunshine are good.
