How predictable of us - we just got back from yet another holiday at the beach. Only this time, it wasn't stolen over a weekend. We took two days off last week - four days in all at a quiet beach house all to ourselves. The summer vacationers have cleared out, and the beach is much less crowded these days. No activity to report. None at all. No, we did not do a single active thing, except for morning walks with Daisy the Dog.
Don't tell Ben, but I watched a lot of Project Runway while at the beach. For the unitiated, Project Runway is a delicious guilty pleasure brand of TV show. If we had Bravo at home, I would be incapacitated due to Project Runway marathons (one episode after another after another. I couldn't stop myself!)
Now it's back to Real Life, which is actually pretty good these days. Good changes around the corner (hope to make announcements soon). Plus, the house passed inspection with flying colors today and our home loan was officially approved. The little house will be ours on November 1st. How exciting!
On closer inspection, Ben has decided that the current interior paint just won't do. He must repaint the house! And the window trims! And while he's at it, he should pull those nasty weeds spotted in the side yard!
Oh, yes, the boy has plans. He has asked that the yard be deemed "his project" - to which I responded YES, BY ALL MEANS.
So, in the continuing global adventures of Al & Deb, they are right now visiting Gerry & Gill in Cape Town. We are a little jealous that they're all together without us. Just for fun, we think we might call them tomorrow morning (afternoon their time) and give all our love to all our parents all at once.
That's all for now, I think. Just enough to bring you up to speed on your favorite Adlards (excepting all the other Adlards, of course). And now, it's early to bed for me.
p.s. If you only visit this blog to get to Leslie's blog, well - good news, the link is working once again.

We all had a great day visiting Cape Point nature Reserve and Chapmans Peak drive. Today its Robben Island and Table Mountain cable car ride
Congratulations on the closing date for the house!
Yes, Deb and Al ARE in Capetown busily comparing notes on parenting Anna and Ben (just kidding). We have been absolutely spoiled and well taken care of, though I suspect Gerry and Gill are tiring of four Americans incessantly talking (we have two more with us from our church group). The long plane ride begins tomorrow and ends the next day. We will miss South Africa!!!

What good news on the house! Thanks for the update. Can't wait to see the place through pictures. Ben, after you are done in your yard, please come to Omaha to consult on our yard.
