hymn/prayer

O to Grace, how great a debtor
daily I'm constrained to be
Let thy goodness, like a fetter
Bind my wandering heart to thee

Prone to wander, Lord I feel it

Prone to leave the God I love

Here's my heart
O take and seal it
Seal it for thy courts above

I know this is a few days late to post a comment, but what the heck. While reading one of my favorite hymns I thought of another...Amazing Grace. I was then reminded of the incredible movie ("Amazing Grace")about the origin of the hymn and a Christian political activist who, 200 years ago, led the British Parliment to the abolition of slavery . It was an incredible reminder that we can live our faith in this sinful world...especially when the journey is painful.

It is by grace that He binds our hearts to Him. The older I get, the more I'm convinced that the distinctive of Christianity and Jesus's ministry is Grace. Undeserved love. Period. So hard for Americans to grasp, understand, and accept.
