Hello dear ones. Time for a little Sunday afternoon catch up. We've just returned from an overnight at the beach to celebrate my dad's 55th birthday. As we were leaving town, presents in hand, it actually started snowing. A wet, sloppy snow, yes, but still, it was snow, and we were happy to see it. We even bought new windshield wipers to mark the occassion - and drove out of town with our quiet wipers swiping away all the brilliant snow.
Our quick trip to the beach was well worth the drive - steak and shrimp - and a well-lit cheesecake (birthday candles!) to top it all off. We ventured to the beach, briskly cold and wintery - for a quick look-see and then hopped in the car first thing this morning. Sadly, we had to come home early, so I can draft a report for work this afternoon..and I suspect, well into the evening.
By chance, we discovered that Ladysmith Black Mambazo will be performing in Durham this week, so we bought tickets - a small slice of South Africa on this side of the world...is more than welcome. It will have to suffice until we set foot in Capetown again..and - for the first time - together.
