Anna in the kitchen

Today was payday and lo and behold Anna went off to the grocery store for an extensive shopping spree! Our kitchen now looks strangely unfamiliar, it's cupboards are full of tins and bread, while the refrigerator and freezer hold cheeses, butter and various meats. Amazing what a little money will get you! So it seems apt that I would take a moment to describe what we have been eating these past few weeks. One would assume pasta, eggs, bread and cheese, but no, Anna has been performing miracles in the kitchen, making delicious meals out of almost nothing. The other day, as her hubby sat watching tv and feeling sorry for himself, she baked up a flourless (yes, we had no flour) chocolate cake, complete with a scoop of vanila ice cream which had been hiding in the freezer and a sprig of mint. Amazing! Cheered me right up. The previous night she had used the last of the flour making a challah bread - delicious and perfectly woven. Let's see what else: apple muffins for breakfast, eggs benedict with hollendaise sauce, shrimp with french bread and lots of white wine she must have found in the garage somewhere. What a trooper! Perhaps now, the question is, what will we be eating with groceries in the kitchen? I see a navocado (guacamole I am told), red cherries, fish (with chips I believe), chicken, bread, vegetables, noodles (for pad thai I have heard) and lots of canned food in case the pickings get slim again, which they propably will one day. Somebody must have had quite a pay day. Maybe, Anna's Mobile Reach check will come in the mail so we can really celebrate. So what are the tastiest treats Anna has made to date:

1. Spinach and Feta dip
2. Chocolate devils food cake
3. Gnochi
4. Pizza
5. Eggs benedict
6. Chicken Cordon Bleu
7. Protein pancakes
8. Stuffed french toast
9. Challah bread
10. Blue cheese burgers

I am sure her list would differ some what from mine and include more greens and vegetables ( she did make this wonderful baked squash back in the day when it was cold outside). I have really been spoiled, I guess I should do the laundry more often.
