This year I was suprised to learn that there is another person in the Daugird, Spencer clan that enjoys a little activity while on vacation. Jen Spenc is a diamond in the rough when it comes to some physical exertion. While Tim is barely stirring at noon, Jen and I are planning an afternoon on the sea kayak, which thanks to Don and Nancy, we were able to rent for 24 hours. Phil has some get up in him too and is not averse to some vacation activity. I think I can see a small rebellion brewing - the active vacationers! I can't wait for my deep sea fishing boat, this said by the guy with $6 to his name. One can always dream. Actually Anna and I also had a great time on the kayak, but the highlight of the week had to be witnessing the efforts of the alpha males and females attempting to paddle past the breakers. Mr and Mrs Daugird and Spencer - thanks for the laughs. Oh, I should add that I almost killed my mother in law. Phil and I were out on the kayak catching some waves into shore. The best wave we caught, we physically dropped in on, only to be shot off to the right straight towards little Deb, who screamed and held her inflatable raft in front of her head in protection. Good for a laugh but perhaps not so funny at the time.
If only the entire year could be spent at the beach, in beach 'mode'. We were greeted home by a bunch of bills and too few ways to pay them. Our dear immigration lawyer failed to tell us, amony other things, that my work authorization will propably only come in November and not August as he originally implied. That, together with the absence of my most profitable contact at Piedmont Decorators paint store, poses a real cash flow problem. Perhaps I should add a 'donate now' button. I think a few Ebay days may be needed. Anna's business continues to thrive as she hopes to get some more dependable clients under her belt. She has recently teamed up with a new client who is quite fun to work with and has plenty of work for her. I have been busy learning Flash so I can make a website for the Blake Arrington Music Group, Tim Daugird's record label venture. Flash is cool and I hope to create something good for him.
Anna continues to amaze in the kitchen. Especially considering that our pantry comprises of eggs , flour and milk. Check this great loaf of bread she made last night.

That's all I have. Till next time -
Ben

Good to have you guys back! The beach sounds amazing (not that I'd be in the water knowing you were out there with a sea kayak - Jaws has nothing on that kind of fear). We're thinking of you both ...
Dear Lord
Please give Ben and Anna a nice lot of work to do, and enough income to meet all their expenses, to save a little, and to be generous. Please fill them with such an awareness of your love for them that they are filled with peace and joy, and their fears and worries are chased far away. Amen
Ben if you've got a wife who can turn flour, eggs and milh into a beautiful challah bread like that, you've got nothing to winge about!
