Well, as most of you know, I turned thirty a few days ago. So far, so good. I'll keep you posted.
If you are turning thirty, I highly recommend you take a multi-celebration approach.
Say...a holiday with someone you like a lot. Followed by a fabulous birthday party with your friends and family. After that, brunch at Crooks Corner.
The day of, lunch with your work friends (suggest a glass of wine even though it's a work day, and you really shouldn't, but you only turn thirty once, so why not?).
Top it all off with steak frites at Rue Cler with that same someone you like a lot. And well, many celebrations later, you'll feel very celebrated and ridiculously loved. Remember that feeling. It's a nice way to begin a whole new decade of life.
People have been asking me how I feel about turning thirty. The answer is: I feel fine. Good, in fact. Very good.
Now. I will say. Even though I feel fine -- good, in fact -- about turning thirty, it does feel significant. Those people who say it's just another birthday are lying. And I won't lie to you. It's a weighty birthday, a milestone. It does stop and make you think. But it's shaping up to be significant in the best way possible. It's nice to get older. And I have a good feeling about my thirties.
So, thanks to those of you who helped ring in 30 in the most fabulous way. You know who you are. I do love a party. I do. And I love you, too.

If I haven't already said this, you will Love being in your thirties. Love, love, love it. The twenties are an embarrassment by comparison. A necessary accident. A blight. (Okay, maybe the twenties aren't that bad. But the thirties are Much Better. You'll love your thirities. Have I already said that?
